Project Information
What is a project and when do I do it?
- All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will attand a project class
on Thursday mornings during periods 1 and 2. Projects meet once a week.
During that time, you will learn about the topic of the class, and will
also prepare a project that will be presented at the completion of the
trimester.
- For example, in the Criminal Psychology class, you will learn
about the classification of criminal behavior and mechanisms that
society uses to deter criminal behavior. You will use this information
to create a multi-media presentation. At the end of the Trimester,
you will present this to the class.
- For some projects (like the school web-site project) your 'presentation' involves having your project material published on the web site. For others, you may be involved in a group project.
- The projects for the 9th grade class are pre-selected for them. So only 10th and 11th grade students MUST
select the project they will take.
How do I choose my project?
- Go directly to the project selection web page at www.dmcampus.org/ae/projects, or:
- Visit www.dmcampus.org
- Click on ,
to bring up the registration page.
- Click on to bring up the projects selection for registration.
- You will see a 3 part form appear. It looks something like this animated
picture
- Check off the ONE project you want to take
- Enter your first name from the password sheet that was mailed to you.
- Enter your last name from the password sheet that was mailed to you.
- Enter the password from the password sheet that was mailed to you.
You will see asterisks as you type it in.
- Press the button.
- If all goes correctly, you will see a page showing you a receipt of
what you have selected. An image of a receipt similar to the one you will see for project selection is shown here.
Can I make a correction?
Yes, you can make corrections. To do this, just repeat the selection process by selecting all new choices, entering your name and password, and then pressing the following will happen.
- First all your previous choices will be ERASED .
- Then all your new choices will be applied..
Things that can go 'wrong'.
- You previously selected a course that takes up one or more of the periods that the course you just selected takes up. For example, if you chose "Fitness Training W2-F4/5" and then tried to choose "Applied Music W2", the "W2" part of your schedule is already taken up. The previous course (Fitness Training) will be removed and the course just selected (Applied Music) will be added.
- If you see that there are seats in a project, but while you were
looking at your screen, someone else selected the last seat, the status
of that project will go from Available to Unavailable. However, your
browser will not show this in 'real time'. So, occasionally you will
select a project, enter your name and password and will get 'beat out'
of the course. You must choose another, available course and re-enter
your password.
Think about it this way:
- Both you and a friend of yours, using two separate computers, bring up the project selection website at the same time.
- There is only ONE seat left in the Criminal Psychology project. Both of you want to get in that course.
- Your friend quickly selects the project and enters his/her name and password and presses .
- Now, there are NO seats left in the project. But YOUR browser does NOT update the screen every time this happens, so you still think there may be a seat.
- You select Criminal Psychology, enter your name and password and press , but there are no longer seats in that project, so you see the above message, and you also notice that Crimial Psychology is no longer available.
- You choose your next favorite project and hope to get into Criminal Psychology next time it is offered.
- You remember that next year you will be in the next grade and will get to select prior tomore people than you did this year, so there will be a better chance of you getting the course then.
- If you try to select courses, but your grade is not supposed to select
yet (yes, the selection program knows what grade you are in), you will
see a message indicating that you can not select yet. Confer with the
calendar to determine when you should be selecting.
If you are selecting during school hours, wait for the announcement
telling you that it's ok for your grade to select.
:
- If you do not enter your information EXACTLY as it appears in the
sheet, you will not be able to make your selection. Note that if your
name is not spelled correctly on the sheet, you must enter the mispelled
version EXACTLY as it appears on the password sheet.
- Occasionally someone will enter their first or last name and append
a space to the end of it. The space will not show up in the Last Name
or First Name box, but it will not be correct. So if you are re-entering
your password, it is good practice to select the text of your last name
and first name to make sure there are no spaces at the end of them. See this link to see what this looks like.
- If your name appears in your password sheet with a ", jr"
at the end, or something like that, you MUST include it exactly as specified.
Be careful about commas and periods. "John F. Jr." is NOT
the same as John F Jr.".

Elective Information
What is an Elective?
- Your core classes consist of those classes that are required for your grade and/or your academy. Core classes are like English, Math, Science, Phys-Ed, Social Studies, and your Academy Focus courses.
- These classes do not fill your entire schedule. You can view your core classes (when they are available) by logging in here: www.dmcampus.org/ae/schedule/showSchedule.php.
- The academies provide elective courses for you to attend during those periods that are not scheduled for core courses.
- Typically, electives meet for one hour twice a week. They are also usually only last one Trimester. So, each trimester, you will need to select electives to fill your open time.
- These electives cover a wide range of materials related to various academies and course areas. They often provide a good opportunity for you to take classes relating to topics normally covered only for the other academies. For example, Information System students will be taught programming in their academy focus courses. For those students not in the Information Systems Academy, a class in Visual Basic is offered for teaching programming.
- Most electives are offered during period 10, when the least core courses are taught.
How do I choose my electives?
- Get your schedule by logging in to www.dmcampus.org/ae/schedule/showSchedule.php.
- Determine the open periods you have.
- Go directly to the elective selection web page at www.dmcampus.org/ae/registration, or:
- Visit www.dmcampus.org
- Click on , to bring up the registration page.
- Click on to bring up the electives selection for registration.
- You will see a 3 part form appear. It looks something like this animated picture
- Look at each elective you want to take and see if it is available on the days and periods you are not scheduled. REMEMBER THAT FOR MANY PEOPLE, ALL OF PERIOD 10 IS AVAILABLE FOR ELECTIVES.
- Select all the electives you want, but make sure that they are scheduled to meet during your open time.
- Try to fill in all your open time (see this note)
- Enter your first name from the password sheet that was mailed to you.
- Enter your last name from the password sheet that was mailed to you.
- Enter the password from the password sheet that was mailed to you. You will see asterisks as you type it in.
- Press the button.
- If all goes correctly, you will see a page showing you a receipt of what you have selected. A sample image of a receipt is shown here:
What if I choose too few electives?
If you do not choose enough electives, electives will be chosen for you. Usually, this is done after everyone else has selected, so you will be placed in the least popular classes.
Can I make a correction?
Yes, you can make corrections. To do this, just repeat the selection process by selecting all new choices, entering your name and password, and then pressing the following will happen.
- First all your previous choices will be ERASED .
- Then all your new choices will be applied..
WARNING: In order to select the same course again when you make your changes, there needs to be at least one more space (seat) available in the class. So it may not be possible to keep all your previous selections when making a change.

Schedules of Core Course Information
What is a core course?
- Your core classes consist of those classes that are required for your grade and/or your academy. Core classes are like English, Math, Science, Phys-Ed, Social Studies, and your Academy Focus courses.
- These classes do not fill your entire schedule.
How do I view my core courses?
How are my courses arranged?
- A typical schedule for non-seniors contains the following:
- Homeroom every morning from 8:00-8:10
- A lunch every day in one of the following slots: 11:10-11:50, 12:10-12:50, 1:10-1:50
- A project every Thursday morning in periods 1-2 (8:10-10:10)
- A club every Thursday afternoon in period 10 (2:50-3:50)
- Core courses in some of the remaining periods.
- Seniors spend the entire day in their 'Senior Experience' program, so they do not have projects or clubs (note, some 'clubs' like Habitat for Humanity may still meet after school once or twice a week to allow Senior participation).
Why are some of my classes listed twice in a row (am I really taking English 6 times a week)?
- All classes are scheduled for an entire hour. Some periods are less than an hour, so classes will be scheduled for two adjacent periods to get a complete hour.
They will appear twice in your schedule, but the on-line schedule will put a '|' character in the lines between them to 'connect' them.
- Lunch takes only 40 minutes. Periods 4, 6, and 8 are Lunch periods.
- Classes start 10 minuites after the hour (e.g. 8:10) before your lunch and 10 minutes before the hour (e.g. 2:50) after your lunch.
- If you have a class during a lunch period, you will link it with another period to get a full hour.
- Here are the three possible schedules you will have based on your lunch period
